Live 8 up at Murrayfield. As part of Guy Chambers band. We rehearsed one afternoon at Terminal studio’s. We were told she wants to do ‘sisters are doing it for themselves’ that great duet with Aretha. I wrote my on chart out and when Annie arrived she said she didn’t want to do it like the record and she never liked the bridge section, so we jammed a version which is on YouTube if you want to hear it. She also wanted to do Bob Marley’s ‘Redemption Song’ which was great fun but a busk up. I love artistes that just want to play and see what happens and Annie was up for a good groove and move on. I have to say when she came on stage you could feel the star quality, she was amazing.
